Teaching happiness, Developing physical and mental wellbeing in schools
Adrian delivered a highly engaging talk which gave our staff an understanding of the reasons why students can suffer from anxiety as well as plenty of practical ideas we can now use straight away with our students. Importantly, all of this discussion was well grounded in scientific research which Adrian made accessible to all.
I thought it was great, it really tied up what I’ve been learning since I’ve been at DESC. It was especially good as he has implemented these ideas in the classroom, which to me displays the difference the ideas make. I took away lots of ideas that I would personally use and already have printed to go! Inspiring, uplifting and positive!
I could not have asked for a more wonderful INSET session from Adrian, who tailored his training beautifully to fit our school’s needs. His delivery was excellent; professional, engaging, thought provoking and entertaining. There was a real buzz around the school afterwards and lots of staff stopped me in the corridors to tell me how inspired they were. We are already seeing impact with staff implementing the ideas they learnt to improve the wellbeing of the children (and themselves as an added bonus). Inspiring stuff!
I laughed a lot and, at times, I cried……as some of the points that were raised certainly hit more than one raw nerve! This workshop has taught me how to start looking at things in a different way and I am hopeful that I will be able to incorporate some of the techniques learnt into my daily routine. A truly thought-provoking and uplifting experience!
