For over a century, International Women’s Day has taken place on the 8th of March to celebrate women’s rights and inspire people to act in the ongoing fight for gender equality.

Organizers of International Women’s Day 2022 are asking the world to imagine a gender equal world. 

A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias

Women all around the world struggle around the world due to bias, whether its unconsciously or not. So for this International Women’s Day, cross your arms in solidarity and strike the International Women’s Day 2022 pose.

Together we can break the bias in our day to day life, together we can break the bias in our workplaces, together we can break the bias in our communities, together we can break the bias in our schools and together we can break the bias for all Women.

Martine Wright

7/7 survivor, Paralympic athlete, Inspirational and motivational speaker Martine Wright MBE , 7/7’s most injured survivor lost both legs in the Circle line bombing during the 2005 terrorist attacks on the London underground, yet she considers herself a lucky woman with a whole new life of opportunities. Martine Wright MBE has since rebuilt her life, skydived, learned to fly, become a wife, mother, captain of the British Paralympic Sitting volleyball team, Ambassador, Patron, an inspirational and motivational speaker and much more.

Hayley Mulenda

Multi-award winning author, mental health advocate and change agent. After nearly committing suicide at the age of 18, Hayley realised how mental health issues are increasingly affecting millennials and she was passionate to do something about it. Hayley has now spoken to over 40,000 people sharing her story, life lessons, and strategies on well-being, inclusion and resilience. Hayley published her first book “The ABCs To Student Success ” teaching young people life lessons and strategies on how to sustain a healthy mental wellbeing after facing different trials and tribulations. Alison Edgar MBE

Alison Edgar MBE also known as “The Entrepreneur’s Godmother” to a plethora of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, brings a matchless amalgamation of outside of the box thinking, insight, and knowledge to the world of professional development. As a speaker, Alison’s magnitude of experience working with top clients across a wide range of sectors gives her the ability to connect with audiences of all backgrounds, through relatable anecdotes and personal stories. Debra Searle MVO, MBE

Professional Adventurer, Entrepreneur, Gender Balance Advocate and Inspirational Speaker. Debra first hit the headlines when she set out to row across the Atlantic with her husband. Unfortunately he had to be rescued so Debra, a novice rower, continued alone and rowed 3300 miles from Tenerife to Barbados. It should have taken them six weeks but, to achieve her goal, Debra ended up spending 3 ½ months at sea alone and unsupported, encountering 30′ waves, sharks, and force 8 squalls in her 23 foot plywood boat. Since returning from this adventure, Debra has gone on to undertake solo & team expeditions across the globe.

As an inspirational speaker, Laïla combines personal experience as an Arab lesbian, with industry-leading strategies to champion more inclusive teams and environments.  As an educator, Laïla paints a vision of the benefits of eradicating discrimination, and then gives audiences the practical tools to action such change, with long-lasting positive results. Alison Kriel

Courageous leadership, staff and pupil wellbeing and why it’s so important. Alison has worked in several schools, led two schools and has experienced all the education-related challenges and joys you can imagine. Alison set up a new school, turned around a failing school, supported a range of schools and educators and worked to transform the lives of thousands of children. In 2008 Alison was asked to go to the Local Authority-managed Northwold School in Hackney to act as Executive Headteacher before a visit from Government school inspectors. The school was failing and had a high turnaround of leaders and teachers; with staffing attendance at just 64%. Thanks to the hard work of Alison and her team, the school grew from failing in the bottom 1% of schools to a highly successful school in the top 0.1%.

 

Victoria Humphries

Polar adventurer, three times Guinness World Record holder, mountain climber, marathon runner, author, businesswoman and just a ‘normal’ person. In 1997 Victoria, along with her mother Sue, became part of the first all-female expedition to the North Pole. Along the way they experienced temperatures of -40oC, constantly shifting ice and at one point both Sue and Victoria fell into the Arctic Ocean finding themselves in a life or death situation. The expedition tested their resilience, their ability to cope with a constantly changing environment and most of all their determination to keep on heading North no matter what.
