Plastic Free July provides resources and ideas to help you (and millions of others around the world) reduce single-use plastic waste everyday at home, work, school, and even at your local café.

What is sustainability?

Sustainability is the ability to exist in the world and develop without depleting natural resources like our forests, water, oil, coal and much more for future personal and commercial use.

Tommie Eaton is a passionate, enthusiastic founder of purpose driven, global business @BambuuBrush, who work with some of the world’s most influential companies in the world like Virgin Atlantic, Etihad Airways, LUSH cosmetics, Channel4, Clean the World to inspire positive change through sustainable products, educational workshops and impact projects.

Tommie’s passion of travel converted into sustainable travel after living in Asia for over 6 years witnessing the direct negative impact plastic pollution was having on the environment but also to people in lower-socio economic regions of the world inspiring the to create a business for good.

In 2016, Elise became the first woman and youngest person to run self-supported around the coast of Britain. Aged just 24, she ran 5,000 miles over the course of ten months, covering up to 40 miles per day and carrying her kit on her back.
 
It’s almost impossible to overstate just how unprepared Elise was for this journey. With zero ultra running experience, unable to read a map and having never done any solo adventuring before, she was completely unqualified to embark on such a challenge. But what she discovered was that all she really needed to know was how to take the first step. The rest she could figure out as she went, with the help of the hundreds of strangers she met along the way.
Isaac Kenyon is Philanthropic world-record-breaking British eco-adventurer, energy transition communicator, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of London and the Geological Society of London and a trustee sub-chair for Mind mental health charity.
As an under 30, Isaac Kenyon is one of the youngest international keynote speakers in the world, relates to future generations and holds many world records in endurance adventure sports which in the outdoor industry is rare by such an age.

Victoria is an Adaptive designer, disability advocate and speaker with 14 years experience in the fashion industry.

​She studied fashion design at Istituto Marangoni, graduating with a first in 2008.

She has since worked for numerous suppliers and high street brands from Primark to Sweaty Betty to Victoria Beckham as a garment technologist and technical designer.

She has now spoken at a number of events raising awareness of ableism in the workplace and in society as a whole, she is contributing to research on adaptive clothing and accessibility with institutions around the world.

David is a sports broadcaster with 25 years’ experience, and his particular area of expertise is the crossover between sport and sustainability; he is the leading content creator, host and spokesperson in this space.
His latest documentary in this space for Sky Sports is award-nominated; “Football’s Toughest Opponent” explores the relationship between the beautiful game and the climate crisis. Along with speaking to and guiding elite athletes on their environmental sustainability journey, David has also worked with many clients: European football governing body UEFA, climate-positive sports like SailGP and Formula E, motorsport racing team McLaren and EV manufacturer Polestar.

Barjis Chohan

Barjis Chohan is a pioneer in modest fashion, a social entrepreneur and a professional keynote speaker.
If you want a trail blazer, game changer, rule breaker and someone who brings passion and inspiration to the stage then Barjis is the one. Barjis is the individual that we all want to be but are not brave enough to be. She lights the stage with her stories, failures and challenges to help us to dream big. Chris Hines MBE

Chris Hines MBE

Founding Member of Surfers Against Sewage and Former Sustainability Director of the Eden Project. Environmental Keynote Speaker.
Chris was then Sustainability Director at the Eden Project for 5 years. This included conceiving and delivering “Waste Neutral”, an early version of the circular economy and helping embed the triple bottom line of sustainable business practice throughout the organisation.
 
He’s been campaigning against ocean plastics (in the form of millions of items of sanitary wear) since 1990!

George Bullard is a renowned world record-breaking explorer, endurance athlete and internationally recognised speaker. Known by fellow explorers as a pioneer in the world of adventure. George’s remarkable early feats were eternalised by the world’s greatest living explorer, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who described his achievements as “genuinely ground breaking” – and that was when George was just 19 years old. By this time he had already swum the English Channel, at 14 years old, before completing the world’s longest unsupported polar journey in history before his twentieth birthday.

George delivers talks on the international stage, covering multiple topics. From mental wellness in the workplace, risk management to leadership under pressure and resilience.
