Simon Thomas is a highly respected television presenter and mental health advocate, currently fronting Sky Sports’ iconic Soccer Saturday.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Simon first made his name as the 27th presenter of BBC’s Blue Peter, where he tackled unforgettable challenges including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, running the London Marathon twice, and completing over 40 skydives with the Royal Air Force.

After six years on Blue Peter, Simon moved into sports broadcasting, becoming a familiar face on Sky Sports News and later leading coverage of the Football League, Premier League, and major sporting events such as the 2010 Ryder Cup, the 2012 London Olympics, and Amazon Prime Video’s Premier League broadcasts. He also pioneered the Saturday morning show Cricket AM, and has hosted live events for the ECB, Chelsea FC, Norwich City, and the Olympic Stadium during London 2012.

In 2017, Simon’s life changed dramatically when his wife, Gemma, passed away suddenly from acute myeloid leukaemia. Stepping away from his broadcasting career, Simon focused on raising their son, Ethan, and began sharing his experience of grief, loss, and recovery — becoming a powerful voice in the conversation around mental health. He has since served as President of Blood Cancer UK, written the bestselling book Love, Interrupted, and hosted the podcast Life Interrupted, featuring guests such as Fearne Cotton and Andrea Corr.

Today, Simon is a passionate mental health speaker, addressing topics including grief, resilience, sobriety, and finding hope after trauma. His open, honest approach has resonated with audiences at organisations including Asda, Aviva, the Home Office, and Linklaters.

With his warmth, versatility, and wealth of live presenting experience, Simon is also a highly sought-after event host, awards compere, and corporate speaker — able to effortlessly engage audiences, whether on stage or screen.
