Daniel Fryer is a mental health and wellbeing expert with over 20 years of experience in coaching, counselling and therapy.
He uses rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), clinical hypnotherapy, positive psychology, ecotherapy, and more to help people overcome their adversities and achieve their goals.
Working in private practice, mainly in an online only capacity, he has also worked in private healthcare, and occupational health, as well as for the Priory Hospital and the NHS.
On top of coaching on a one-to-one basis, he also develops workshops, webinars and keynote speeches, plus he produces bespoke print content covering all aspects of mental health and wellbeing.
A former journalist Daniel was, most recently, a consultant for mental health app Mind Ease and is a regular contributor to global mental health organisation Psychology Today. He has a column there called Keeping an Even Keel.
He is the author of How to Cope with Almost Anything with Hypnotherapy, published by Bloomsbury/Green Tree and The Four Thoughts That F*ck You Up . . . And How to Fix Them, published by Penguin Random House/Vermillion.
Daniel is also trained in animal assisted therapy, ecotherapy and other nature-based healing modalities. This goes a long way in explaining why he is currently living in a forest in the Southwest of France and working on a wellbeing retreat concept.
Meet Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT); a form of psychotherapy, a coaching modality (think life coaching, business coaching, and more) and a School of Thought all in one. Find out how to adopt its core principles and live a more productive life.
Life. If it’s not one thing, then it’s another. And, if it’s not that, then it’s everything all at once. We need all the help we can get. And here is where you will get it. Think of wellbeing and resilience in the face of adversity, courtesy of a variety of tools and techniques.
Once a year men get a mental health day named after them and, if they’re lucky, they get a whole week. But, looking after your mental health is a 24/7 thing. Thankfully, it’s easier than it sounds and not as wishy washy as you think.
Top tips, tools, and takeaways to help make your work environment way more happy and far less toxic than it currently is.
Biophilia is an important thing, not just for people but, also, in office development. Ecotherapy is essential to your mental health and wellbeing, and a great boost to productivity in any work environment. And it doesn’t necessarily mean lunchbreaks in a forest (although it can), as brining nature into the workplace can work wonders.
What they look like, how they affect you, what the difference between the two actually is, how you head it off at the pass and, perhaps, more importantly, how do you handle it if you have it?
Daniel accidentally turned his beloved Lara, a rescue from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, into a semi famous therapy dog, with a pretty extensive media portfolio all of her own. She worked alongside him for eight years and not only provided comfort and support but also reduced stress and increased productivity. Find out what pets in the office could do for you.
Daniel is a fantastic resource for HOSPA – The Hospitality Professionals Association. Not only does he present engagingly and professionally at our annual conference, but he is also a regular contributor to our publication ‘The Overview’. Daniel is knowledgeable and his special skill is being able to present and write on a very human level – ensuring that he gets his point across without sounding preachy.
