10 key tips to a successful Speaker!

 

  1. Be clear why you are using a speaker – entertainment, inspiration or personal/ group challenge?

  2. Work out where, when and how the speaker will best fit into your event and have most impact.

  3. Make sure the speaker is briefed with the key messages you want to get across.

  4. Brief and vet speaker content if this is appropriate. Use telephone or on the day briefing to ensure you are getting the right message across.

  5. Use the speaker to reinforce key messages and outcomes to ensure that delegates leave committed to positive change.

  6. Get full value from your speaker on the day by asking her/him to perform extra tasks – such as lunch with the Board/ clients, session facilitation, off platform Q & A’s with delegates over coffee, showing medal etc.

  7. Use speaker imagery and biog details to fully promote and raise the profile and standing of your event.

  8. Make sure you have a call sheet for the day with all logistics on it and that this is shared with all who are critical to delivery.

  9. Make sure you gather feedback properly to fully measure the impact of your speaker.

  10. Do you have ongoing speaker needs? If so work with one agency that learn to understand and interpret your needs to give you the best speaker fit.
