Steven Woolfe MEP  Inspirational Speaker

Steven Woolfe, aged 49 was born in Moss Side, Manchester and grew up in Burnage, England. 

He attended St Bernard's Roman Catholic School and went on to win a scholarship to St Bede's Roman Catholic Independent College. Steven went to school with Liam and Noel Gallagher, who later formed the famous band; Oasis. 

Steven Woolfe gained a law degree at Aberystwyth University and began his career at chambers in Inner Temple. Before becoming a Member of the European Parliament, Steven worked as a lawyer in the City of London with over 20 years of financial services, legal and compliance regulatory experience. He spent his last few years in the city as general counsel to hedge fund managers. Steven's roles has included Head of Compliance and legal for various tier one investment banks, stockbrokers and hedge funds including UBS, Credit Suisse, Aviva, Barclays Capital and Standard Bank. 

Steven Woolfe  joined politics to campaign for Brexit and Britain's withdrawal from the European Union. The main causes that made him enter politics were; freedom, liberty, democracy and serving the people.

Steven Woolfe  joined the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in 2011. During his time in UKIP, Steven served as the leading frontbench spokesman for Immigration, Financial Affairs and Economics.  In July 2014, he was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the North West of England. 

In October 2016, Steven Woolfe  resigned his membership of UKIP and currently sits as an Independent MEP in the European Parliament. Steven also sits as a member of the EU's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON). In his role as an ECON coordinator, Steven has questioned senior European Commissioners, including former UK commissioner Jonathan Hill on Economic matters concerning the UK and the Eurozone. In one of Steven's first contributions to ECON, Steven questioned Lord Hill on which master he will serve – the Queen (as a member of the House of Lords) or the European Union (as a commissioner).  

On 23rd June, the UK voted to leave the EU. Steven Woolfe  will continue his work as a politician by ensuring that Leave means Leave and that the UK continues to gain strength, through its international relationships - particularly with the United States.  

Steven Woolfe played a key role in the EU Brexit referendum - a campaign that took him around the world including America. He led the Leave campaign in North West England. During the campaign, he made multiple speeches on immigration and finance, which were covered by the national and international press. He also made numerous high-profile media appearances during the campaign on Radio and TV. During the campaign, Steven did over 100 public appearances and appeared alongside many notable politicians from all political parties. Steven also has an active fellowship on twitter Facebook and YouTube with over 50,000 followers across the board. 

Steven Woolfe MEP  is a regular on TV and Radio and has appeared on every single major political programme in the UK media – from Question Time to News Night. Steven has also made appearances on many international TV stations including – CNN, Fox News, ABC Australia and more.
