Rob Walker  Host  TV Presenter Commentator and Inspirational Speaker

Rob Walker is a Channel 4 and bbc tv presenter and commentator with an energetic and instantly recognisable style of his own.

During a 17 year TV career of 4 summer Olympic Games, 3 Paralympic Games and 2 winter Olympic Games, Rob Walker has contributed to and been part of some of British and world sports most memorable moments.

Rob Walker's 2008 BBC Olympic Sailing interviews developed a cult following back home, while his 2012 and 2016 Paralympic athletics commentary in London and Rio were watched by millions, forming a key part of Channel 4's coverage of both events.

Rob Walker's passion for Sport has been both noticed and appreciated overseas. In 2015 Rob traveled to Addis Ababa to receive a special award for a decade of service to Ethiopian distance running from 6 time World and Olympic 10,000m champion Haile Gebrselassie.

Rob Walker is also regarded as the most influential Master of Ceremonies in the 40 year history of Bbc Sport's Snooker coverage.

This natural comfort in front of large crowds together with his ability to conduct insightful live interviews with leaders in Sport and Industry has made him a sought after event host for many years.

Rob Walker has a reputation for always being as diligent in preparation as he is enthusiastic at an event itself.

Becoming a broadcaster and a Commentator in particular was Rob Walker's childhood dream and in his motivational speeches, Rob Walker underlines his strong belief that anyone can force open the door to their desired career with a thick skin, enough determination and a touch of humour.

With self deprecating and thought provoking examples of his own journey through the unpredictable world of broadcasting, Rob Walker's warmth, honesty and ability to tell a story appeals to a wide cross section of people - not just sports fans. He always leaves audiences feeling positive and motivated about their own journeys, ideas and potential.

Rob Walker is a highly skilled, witty and accessible motivational speaker and host.

Rob Walker is a Channel 4 and BBC Sport broadcaster with more than 15 years on screen experience in the TV industry.

Rob Walker's unparalleled enthusiasm and energy -  for life and sport -  has taken him around the world to commentate and report on many iconic moments.

On the South China sea in 2008 his live off shore interviews with Britain's Olympic gold medal winning sailors provided the BBC with some of their most memorable Beijing footage.

Four years later in London 2012, Rob Walker 's Paralympic athletics commentary on David Weir was watched by more than 6 million people and formed one of the highlights of Channel 4's Bafta award winning coverage of the games.

Since 2014 Rob Walker has also been the voice-over artist on BBC's Longest running Quiz show - A Question of Sport!

As comfortable in front of an audience as he is in a commentary box, over the last decade Rob Walker has become the most recognisable Master of Ceremonies in Sport, helping to change the way Snooker is covered and presented to the public and bbc tv audiences.

Rob Walker also has a passion for Africa and is a believer in opportunity for all. Since 2005 he has combined the two, running a ground breaking project by selecting and then personally leading a group of British teenagers on a fully funded 2 week tour of Kenya and Uganda. So far more than 40 young people have changed perceptions of both themselves and their potential.

On Saturday June 4th 2005 on a riverbank in central Glasgow, Rob Walker was involved in a rescue attempt which was to teach him much about the fragility of life and taking chances - metaphorically and literally - whenever you can.

In 2016 Rob Walker finally fulfilled his life long dream of commentating on the Athletics at the Olympics and then became one of the youngest British broadcasters ever to lead Opening and Closing ceremony commentary of an Olympic or Paralympic Games, overseeing Channel 4's coverage in Rio with warmth and authority.

Rob Walker's determined, humorous and upbeat journey through life and the fickle world of tv sport has brought him into contact with some truly fascinating and inspirational people. His unique style and first hand version of so many memorable events always captivate an audience.

"I am head of journalism at Sussex University. Over the years I have asked Rob Walker to give a talk or workshop to my students on a number of occasions. As you might imagine I have been involved in organising dozens of guest speakers to talk to students at the Universities where I have worked. I have seen a huge variety of people, many of them famous, talk to students. I can honestly say that Rob Walker’s talks have had the greatest impact on my students. His charisma and enthusiasm for his work is highly infectious. He inspires students to take their careers seriously and to understand you have to work hard to get the job you really want to do. It goes so far as for students who have shown little interest in Sports journalism to suddenly be inspired after his talk. What’s more he is often very funny. Rob Walker is a truly outstanding public speaker."

 Dr Paul Lashmar, Sussex University

Rob Walker  I can only express an approximation of the gratitude that is due to you for last night's bravura performance: it was truly awesome. You are so skilled and pitched it perfectly right. You made the boys feel so special and at the centre of events.  I can't repay you for your contribution to the success of the evening.

Rob Walker is an extremely funny, sincere and professional speaker who will always make sure he does thorough research on whoever he is interviewing or on the event that he is covering. Earlier this year, Rob Walker hosted our Salute ’66 event in Manchester. He was required to work through a lunch and dinner event and he was an absolute pleasure to work with the entire day, he had done all of his preparations for the interviews he undertook with Sir Geoff Hurst and Gordon Banks and the feedback from his table that we sat him on was that he was fantastic throughout the event. A really nice guy and a real professional, could not recommend Rob Walker  higher.’
