Nick Hewer, Motivational Keynote and  After Dinner Speaker

Hewer is a British former public relations consultant-turned-television personality and television presenter, who lives in Northamptonshire

Nick Hewer appeared as Sir Alan Sugar's right hand man in the BBC's Apprentice. He still remains as an adviser to the now Lord Sugar but in 2012,
Nick's new found television career moved on as he started hosting game show, Countdown. Nick has also appeared as a guest and panellist in a number of popular TV shows such as, Have I got News For You and Room 101.
Nick's background was in PR. He started his own company back in the mid 60's and he ended up working within the management team at Armstrad. Working closely with Lord Sugar they became good friends and in the early 80's. Nick's PR company were then hired by Armstrad to represent them. Nick sold the company in 1998.

Nick Hewer’s PR firm was chosen to represent Amstrad in the eighties and soon became responsible for media handling of all Alan Sugar’s business and charitable activities. For over 20 years, Nick Hewer played an integral part in Amstrad’s management structure. Nick built up a long and impressive client list. As well as international corporations, he represented the Secretariat of HH the Aga Khan and, for a fascinating period, the wife of the ruler of Dubai, the late Sheikh Maktoum.

After selling the business, Nick Hewer retired early to his house in south west France; but having become firm friends with Sir Alan, he was called back to negotiate with the producers of what was to become a ground-breaking reality TV show. The tables were turned when Sugar persuaded Nick to take an onscreen role and promised to negotiate his fees. “I fought hard against it”, he says, “but he cajoled me in a muscular sort of way. Having Alan Sugar negotiate on my behalf with the BBC was fun, after fighting him tooth and nail over my fees for so many years.”

Since then Nick Hewer and his current fellow previous aides Margaret Mountford and Karren Brady have become surprising stars of the show. Nick’s expressions, borne of wonderfully dry humour and a lifetime’s business experience, tell you exactly what he thinks of the contestants.

Need I say anything here!? He was fab and he now makes me see The Apprentice (and the purpose behind it) differently. Great choice.

Brilliant. Intelligent, witty & insightful. Could have happily listened to him all day.

A class act and I didn't care it didn't really relate to the previous topics / speakers.

 Thoroughly enjoyable and very entertaining

"Very articulate, humorous and accomplished. Interesting renditions on the topical subject of The Apprentice. His light-hearted approach, combined with delivering our key messages about the building made him a very successful speaker for us."
