Martine Wright MBE was not only a total joy to meet and be around but one of the best motivational speakers we have had on the line-up at our annual festival of learning. She is down to earth, humorous, inspiring, humbling…the list goes on. I challenge anyone to leave the room after having heard Martine speak and not feel inspired to go and follow their dreams and achieve what they may have thought previously was the impossible.

This was my second time using Martine Wright to close a conference on the themes of leadership and resilience and I can think of nobody, in all my years of event management, better to close a conference. The impact Martine Wright has on an audience is one of sheer hope, whilst a horrific life changing issue Martine Wright MBE brings a humour and relevance to her story which puts an audience at ease, relaxes them and takes them with her on her journey with such ease you feel your listening to a friend speak.
Martine Wright MBE is the only speaker I've come across whom I've booked continually due to her ability to tailor her presentation and messages to the audience she addresses and I just wish she'd get her book written!
Colin McIntosh, Conference Manager Primary Headteachers’ Association, Bracknell Leaders Conference
“Martine Wright opened Changeboard’s Future Talent conference at Sadler’s Wells to an audience of 1,000 senior HR and business leaders, and completely rebooted everyone’s expectations for the day. Her story, told with such good humour, humility and humanity was truly moving, and inspirational. Martine is a brilliant and memorable speaker on anything to do with the talent agenda”.
It is also worth a mention that in our post event evaluation that Martine Wright ranked second out of ten speakers, out-voting people like Ruby Wax and Sir Clive Woodward
Jim Carrick-Birtwell, Co-founder & CEO, Changeboard
Martine Wright, shared her story with 50 leaders within Hartlepool schools. It demonstrated that resilience and resilient leadership are essential to manage all the different aspects that life brings upon every one of us. Also having humour and humility running throughout her presentation meant that our afternoon with Martine Wright will remembered for ever and change how we do our daily jobs as head-teachers.

Martine Wright brought our summit to life in her story of courage, mindset and positivity in the face of such adversity. Her warmth and humour allowed people to feel joy as well a huge emotional connection to her bittersweet journey to competing in the Paralympics in 2012. This would be an inspirational story for any event or leadership workshop that looks at attitudes, beliefs and behaviours. She was a pleasure to work with through the whole process in planning our event and we have been asked several times to recommend her to speak at other large events.

Martine Wright most certainly inspired the audience and spoke from the heart about the impact of her experience and how it pushed her to take on challenges that she would never have considered previously. Martine captivated the audience and incorporated our key message for the evening of ‘Make it Happen’ perfectly, encouraging us to take risks, be brave and not to let adversity or negative situations stop us from achieving what we want to.
Her presentation was injected with good humour and audience participation which contributed to a fantastic presentation overall.

Team London have now been working with Martine Wright for 18 months, every time she speaks she energises the whole room. An incredibly strong woman, her inspirational story never fails to make the hairs on your arms stand up, but more importantly she is so down to earth and engaging she really makes this relevant for her audience. Yesterday we had 80 business professionals in the room, and she really connected the message of her journey and volunteering with their workplace challenges. She’s also represented Team London speaking to over 12,000 young people at Wembley and made them all inspired to get out and give more back to their community by the way that she spoke to them. I would wholeheartedly recommend Martine Wright to speak at any event to any audience. We love working with her because she is so friendly and has become a real part of the team here.

Martine Wright From my heart - thank you for your presence and presentation on Friday at the Nye Bevan graduation. You were a star - wonderful in what you said and how you said it. You deserved the standing ovation from the entire room. Your story was touching - but that’s not what you earned the admiration and thanks from the audience for. You earned the audience’s adoration and respect for the messages you sent around resilience, around responding to life’s challenges with a positive and ambitious stance, and around the true gratitude and humility you showed for the NHS. In short - you were great.
Head of Professional Development, NHS Leadership Academy
Martine Wright was a truly inspirational speaker and has a great story to tell, relevant to all walks of life. She kept our audience captivated and her session generated lots of questions and discussions.
It is rare that a speaker can be good enough to keep conference delegates in a room until the very end of the very last session on the very last day, but Martine achieved this with ease.
Kirsty Talbot, Events Manager, CIPD Scotland Annual Conference
"Martine Wright did a great job and really tried to tailor her story to our event objectives. I wanted a speaker that touched the heart strings of our audience and one who was an inspiration to them too – she most certainly achieved this."

It was with great pleasure that I chaired Genesis Housing Association’s Inspirational Speakers event as part of the women's network group, and hosted Martine Wright at our head office in Camden.
Although I had never met Martine prior to 13th November I was familiar with her story and positive attitude. I imagined her to be a humorous and likeable individual and as she made her entrance she did not disappoint.
We had completed the brief to give some pointers around our organisational values and messages, which Martine incorporated perfectly. Although I had seen her video The Journey several times it still moved me along with the audience members to hear her story in her own words.
Martine then described her experiences since the 2012 Paralympics, which continued to be astounding, and it was great to hear about all the new challenges she has embraced.
The presentation was injected with humour and audience participation, with much laughter and reflection.
Martine finished her set and took questions and stayed for one on one conversations with individual staff members. After she departed many staff stayed (8pm in an office is a record!) and it was encouraging to hear about the new challenges they were going to set themselves after being inspired by Martine.
For the women's network it was great to see an increase in male participants, something we have been trying to encourage for a while! Plus almost two weeks on and I am still being stopped in the kitchen/toilet/hallway and being told what a wonderful guest she was and how positive she left people feeling. This is great for Martine but also for us as she completely lived up to our (high) expectations and more.
Social and Economic Regeneration Manager Genesis Housing November 2014

On a personal note Martine, you are a complete inspiration to so many people. To find the inner strength and determination to explore new challenges and to achieve so much in such a short space of time if ‘absolutely awesome’.

We invited Martine to talk at our staff training day because she is a person who has applied our company values in her daily life. Martine gave a humbling account of her life since the 7/ 7 bombings in 2005 and the focus and determination required with the regeneration of her life. Her involvement in the sitting volley ball squad and subsequent contribution to the Paralympics 2012 is an inspiration. Martine was approachable, personable and was happy to sit and answer many questions following her talk. The employees were very moved by her journey and we would like to thank her and wish her well for the future.

Martine presented at our annual event and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. She arranged a chat with us first to get the idea of the message we wanted to convey and also get a feel for our company. She arrived on the day and gave a hugely moving presentation, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the whole room! Martine handed out several staff awards and stayed for a short while afterwards talking to everyone and having pictures taken. She was a complete star and offered a very moving and motivational speech that everyone in the room was hugely impressed with. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.

Martine Wright recently spoke at the All Parliamentary Group on Women’s Sport and Fitness in Parliament at an event held to help to raise the profile of women’s sport in Parliament and beyond, in order to address current barriers to women’s sport and fitness and to increase participation amongst women and girls.
Martine gave a passionate presentation, which was very well received by the large audience of senior stakeholders. Most people are aware of her story but she is able to tie it all together in a very moving way which emphasises both her determination and her class. On the day she was a pleasure to work with and we would be delighted to work with her again

Martine was really amazing – she made a real impact on everybody and inspired us all. Her humility and incredible attitude meant she touched everyone. Her presence turned our company event into a very special day and I am sure that it will be something that the staff will never forget
Martine’s story is a remarkable one, because she is remarkable. Her dedication, determination and bravery are an example to us all. In her speech, Martine talked about how what happened to her inspired other members of her family. As a result of her speech, Martine has also now inspired 110 sports coaches who have a key role to play in improving opportunities for participation in sport, and the quality of life, for people living in communities throughout Northern Ireland. I have no doubt that all of the coaches were amazed by what Martine had to say, and the importance that she placed upon sport – as a result, they will have a better understanding of the impact of the work that they are delivering.
