Jonathan Davies MBE   Welsh Rugby Legend  Pundit, Motivational and After-Dinner Speaker.

Jonathan Davies is one of the BBC's key commentators and analysts for Rugby Union and Rugby League,

He is adored by millions of viewers for his distinctive voice, insightful opinion and genial demeanour, he is always thoroughly prepared and always entertaining.

Born in Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire, Jonathan started his rugby career playing for his local village team. He went on to make his name at club level with Neath and Llanelli before wearing the revered Welsh number 10 jersey. In his Test debut at Cardiff Arms Park against England in 1985, he put in a Man of the Match performance scoring two tries. He went on to win 37 Rugby Union caps for Wales.

Moving to Rugby League Jonthan played for Widnes and Warrington, Great Britain and Wales, as well as playing with Australian teams the Canterbury Bulldogs and the North Queensland Cowboys.

He finished his rugby career playing for Cardiff RFC

Beginning his career in Rugby Union, Jonathan Davies developed his game at Trimsaran RFC before signing for Neath in 1982 to play at fly-half. After 35 games for the club, Jonathan got his break to play for his national side, scoring a try and a drop goal against England as well as being nominated the Man of the Match. Jonathan transferred to Llanelli in 1988 and played an important part of the Triple Crown success for Wales. 

In 1989 Jonathan Davies changed disciplines to Rugby League and signed for Widnes. Jonathan played at centre during the side’s 1989 World Cup Challenge victory against Canberra Raiders. In 1991, Jonathan played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Sydney. After Widnes experienced financial difficulties in 1993, Davies moved to rivals Warrington and represented Great Britain for the last defeat of Australia at old Wembley stadium, scoring an amazing try and picking up the Player of the Season award. 

Jonathan moved back to Rugby Union in 1995 after the sport changed to a professional game. He  then signed for Cardiff RFC and continued to play for his national side until 1997 when he retired.   

Jonathan has since carved out an illustrious career in television and broadcasting as a TV Presenter. In this role he is able to share his extensive knowledge learnt from a dual-code rugby career with the world at large. He has become an integral part of the team at the BBC Sports team and a household favourite.

Jonathan is also an accomplished after dinner and business speaker.

He is able to deliver key messages to business  but with his natural charm enthusiasm and funny anecdotes he is also able to deliver an entertaining after dinner spot!
