Alan Boyle is Director of Leannta Education Associates, a company he founded 14 years ago, and Loqui.tv the online professional learning resource for schools. Alan is an invited presenter at international leadership conferences, providing keynotes and workshops about Uplifting Leadership in business, education and sport.  He also presents sessions about: Big-City School Reforms; Leading the Change Process; Collaborative Inquiry; Personalised Learning & Authentic Assessment.

As a leadership consultant Alan Boyle designs and provides professional learning for education leaders in the UK and abroad. Over the last twelve years he has established and maintained learning partnerships between school and district leaders in the UK and their peers in North America, Norway and the Netherlands. Between 2006 and 2008 he worked as a consultant to the Department of Education in NYC to establish the Quality Review process in all schools across the city. As a researcher, his latest work involved an in-depth analysis of system-wide school reforms across NYC, Toronto and London over the decade 2002-2012.  

Alan Boyle started his career as a science teacher and spent 20 years in urban schools across England. He worked for the National Curriculum Council in England before working for two local authorities, including 7 years as the chief inspector of a London borough. He was among the first qualified Ofsted inspectors.

Alan Boyle has written science text books and many articles in journals and newspapers. His latest co-authored books are Uplifting Leadership: How Organizations, Teams & Communities Raise Performance with Andy Hargreaves & Alma Harris, published by Jossey Bass in 2014 and Big-City School Reforms: Lessons from New York, Toronto and London with Michael Fullan, published by Teachers College Press in 2014. 

Alan’s lifelong passion is climbing mountains.  He was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship in 1982.
